It's tha day of the crack dog...

by rowan @ Saturday, 01. Oct, 2005 - 01:27:17

Howdy you good folks of Royston Vasey...

I'm still extremely tired and worn out after fresher's week, but I had fun, met lots of new people and in some ways will miss not being able to do it next year. But nevermind, you gotta let things go.

I've just noticed something:

Is the same as:

I'm also bidding on my first ever Ebay venture... An effects pedal to use in the band. I probably won't get it because I'd imagine I'm rubbish at this, but we'll see. We've a gig tomorrow night at a towny place. Dunno how it'll turn out, but gigs are always fun, unless they don't have mics.

Josef and I are running in another half marathon event in Leicestershire. It'll be shit compared to the marathon effort (hee hee) that we produced in the Robin Hood one. I am poorly prepared mentally and physically. And apparently it has hills. God damn poor people.

Diane, I shall report back tomorrow with reference to the gig and also the Forest V Tranmere result. Oh dear.

Alton Towers and gubbins

by rowan @ Sunday, 25. Sep, 2005 - 22:56:23

I had fun over the weekend, however, a number of things annoyed me.

- Commoners and pikies : Hundreds of them. As part of your experience, you have to dodge the commoner spit. It's not fun.
- Gig in leeds : Not having microphones, playing for 4 songs and arriving back home at about 3.30am.
- fresher's fayre starting tomorrow : I expected it, but the work-load has still gotten on top of me. However, the fresher's are getting the sweetest deal ever and it all comes nicely packed too.

Forest vs Swansea, nice result of 1-1, however, they still managed to throw away a 1 goal lead. Nevermind. Bring on Blackpool on tuesday!

Happy holidays you poor bastards

Cariba Creek!

Hello Cruel world, what a lovely day it was today.

Last night we played a gig at the Princess Charlotte in Leicester with John. It went really well and some new people liked us, so in all, a fine night.

I'm printing some photos off for my housemate, and my printer just shit itself and made one of the worst noises ever.

Anyway, I missed what sounds like a cracking match last night in which Forest won 3-1. Good result, but shame I wasn't there to see it! Tomorrow I'm off to Alton Towers with my family for a few days as my little brother starts at the University of Nottingham on Sunday and it's become somewhat of a tradition now. He's the 4th out of all 4 of us to attend said university.

Well, I'm busy till Monday, maybe later, so I may not be on this, Rowan. But do enjoy your gig in Leeds, enjoy your 2 day stay at Alton Towers and more importantly, take the best of care of yourself.

Make all the people scream

by rowan @ Saturday, 17. Sep, 2005 - 20:44:14

I don't know why, but I have Beck in my head. It's good, but I haven't heard Beck in ages.

Forest won today for the first time in 20 years which was nice for me, especially because I couldn't force my ticket on anybody and I'm now glad I went. The best thing about it was that after a disappointing first half of football, everyone was sat silently at half time. Not talking to anybody, not moving and just staring into space. What made it better was that over the Tannoy system, the peeps thought it'd be funny to play "Fix You" by Coldgay.

It was a depressing point in my life, but very funny seeing all the commoners close to tears.

Our band, Swound!, had a gig last night, and it was rocking. Bring on Leeds next weekend, where we will party harty marty and have a gay old time. But I'm not gay or anything so don't bum me.

I'm going now, to watch a film. Goodbye.

I'm at Wembley

by rowan @ Wednesday, 14. Sep, 2005 - 02:15:16

It's well hot. Yet it's strangely windy at the same time.

I would like Jack Lester to return to Forest, he bagged another 2 in last night's reserve game, so the sooner the better.

Rowan: Please don't forget the following;
- Printed Labels
- Logo
- Brown paper bags

Oh, and another thing. I played football today. It was the 1st bit of exercise since my marathon effort, and I felt fine. So I can crack on with training now and aim for something soon. How's about Worksop? It's the day before Party With Swound!, so I don't know if it's a good idea.

13.1 miles? What you think?
